Luria tessellata lani is an extremely rare species, with fewer than twenty specimens recorded worldwide. It was first documented from Taiwan and later from Japan and the Philippines, with New Caledonia now representing the most frequently cited locality, though still with very limited numbers.

This specimen is graded F+, having been collected fresh dead. It still retains notable original gloss, particularly on the base, with additional gloss present on the sides and faintly on the dorsum. The shell shows heavy callusing and is truly incredible to hold in your own hands.

This is one of the scarcest and hardest to obtain species of Cypraeidae known to collectors, up there with alexhuberti and amralli. Once it's gone, it's gone, and it most likely will not be seen again on the market anytime soon. A standout specimen by any standard, and one that would anchor an advanced collection.
